Résumé:

L’histoire de Stargate Atlantis se déroule dans la cité d’Atlantis, dans la galaxie de Pégase, qui fut construite il y a des millions d’années par une race très avancée, les Anciens. Dû à la menace des Wraiths, les Anciens furent forcés de s’échapper vers la Terre et submergèrent la cité au fond de l’océan. Des milliers d’années plus tard, une expédition provenant de la Terre débarque sur Atlantis dans le but de rencontrer les Anciens. Tout en tentant de maîtriser les technologies et secrets de la cité, les membres de l’expédition Atlantis explorent la galaxie de Pégase en quête de sources d’énergies, de technologies et d’alliés qui pourraient leur permettre de vaincre les terribles Wraiths.
