20th Century Fox Home Entertainment annonce pour le 8 août, le film Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul en format DVD et Blu-ray, réalisé par David Bowers et mettant en vedette Jason Drucker, Charlie Wright, Alicia Silverstone, Tom Everett Scott, Christopher Coppola et Owen Asztalos.
Des pistes sonores anglaise et française seront disponibles.
Adorant les jeux vidéos, Greg n'a qu'une idée en tête : se rendre à un congrès national de geek pour y rencontrer son idole. Malheureusement pour Greg, ses parents ont décidé qu'ils se rendraient tous en famille à l'anniversaire de son arrière-grand-mère. Comme bien des jeunes de son âge, cette perspective ne l'enchante guère et ne le détourne nullement de son but premier. À l'aide de ses frères, Greg tentera l'impossible, en passant par le trucage du GPS de ses parents jusqu'à la conduite sans permis, pour se rendre coûte que coûte à cet évènement, entrainant de ce fait sa famille dans une aventure qu'ils n'oublieront pas de si tôt.
